I gave him $50 off for bulk work.
I showed it to another smith that I've known for about 20 years and he's been smithing a little bit longer then I, He almost messed himself. Then bitched that I didn't charge enough, lol.

When I received this 17 I thought it was destine for the parts bin.
It did not have any lock up, a bent crane, & the obvious rust. In return it was peining the cylinder from dry firing, and come to find out after that all was fixed, The timing was bad 4/6. So I fixed that too.
While playing miracle worker, I inspected the bore and also saw the inside of the action assembly was in good condition despite the exterior appearance. So instead on spending the rest of my life blending pits and washing away words etc. I just decide to parkerize it and make a decent shooter, as it would never be worth much anyway with all the cosmetic issues. Ordered some cheap foe ivory grips and here it is at twice the labor then it will ever be worth.

Before I couldn't handle it being in the parts tray.

Thanks guys, I'm surprised at how well the light tone grips look on an old park.
