I had made a post about these in another thread but I believe they more than deserve their own. Wilderness belts are in my opinion some of the finest tactical belts on the market. They are exceptionally useful for duty, hunting, or any other activity where extra weight will be placed on the belt due to their strong construction. I've had a lot of problems in the past with leather belts stretching or tearing during carry but on my Instructor belt I can barely tell the difference after over a year. They even make a belt with a polymer insert for added rigidity if the standard is not enough. One cool perk is that they are made right here in Phoenix too.

Interesting facts off the website:

"buckle coated with non-glare black Roguard®, a tough milspec finish which is highly corrosion-resistant and will not chip like cheaper coatings"

"they can be used for emergency rappelling with proper training."

"our Original Instructor Belt has withstood a minimum of 5,900 lbs. of static stress without failing, to more than 8,000 lbs. of static stress without failing"

"Our proprietary resin treatment on the belt tab actually soaks into the core of our nylon and bonds with it, providing permanent protection from fraying."

You are correct that these belts are tough. We have used the Wilderness ones as safety belts on scissors lifts.

I find this style to be a lot more practical if used to actually rappel or support weight since it does not turn the buckle sideways.

And for $30 bucks.

These are also made by Diamondback Tactical here in Phoenix. All mil-spec and super quality.

+1 on the Wilderness belt. Great quality. I've been wearing one of these as my everyday belt for the last couple of years.

I use one as my everyday belt also. Mine is almost worn out. Wilderness offers you a discount also if you let them reuse your buckle to build the new belt for you. Very nice.

I love mine as well, it feels like another layer of protection, and I wear it in all my pants!

Good info! I did not know that. My actual belt portion is doing great, it's the Vel-Cro that is getting worn.

I know this is old but I'm bumping it. I have a wilderness belt but I just can't seem to get comfortable in it. I honestly think its because I'm too skinny (32" waist). This makes the belt more of a oval rather than round which I think is making it uncomfortable. Its almost too stiff for me. When I bend over it just digs into my stomach. I know I'm excluding most of you but any other skinny people wear this belt? Do I just need to keep wearing it and breaking it in? I want to like it and wear it, I just can't seem to though :(

Mine is a 32" belt and I'm around a 29-30" waist. My hips did get rather sore while I was forming the belt initially but that has long since passed and now I love it. I would wear it more often if it matched my nicer clothes lol.

I agree with your observations on the Wilderness belt. It is my first choice for any hard usage.
