Just received the following:

I wanted to break some news to everyone. Due to a new comer entering the Saiga-12 drum market soon... We are lowering the price of our drum, the MD-20 to $120. You read that right, $120!!! The price will go into effect 01-26-10 at noon, Eastern time. That is less than 12 hours away. Our new competitor is not know for quality products but we felt this is something we must still do. Not only to ensure a competitive edge but to better ensure your money is well spent! From what I'm hearing, our new $120 price point will still make our drum the most affordable drum on the market. That with our proven design and reputation for reliability should keep MD Arms, Ltd by far the best choice for a saiga-12 drum mag. I could be wrong but I highly doubt the new guys are making a better mouse trap! I will post more on this tomorrow prior to Noon. We will be contacting our stocking dealers tomorrow as well to work out something on stock still held. We will be offering customers that have ordered in the past 30 days something as well. We will be opening up sales to new stocking dealers as well and will have those details in the next few days.

I want to apologize and thank everyone that paid more for one in the past. This was out of our control. But we feel the ultimate outcome from this will make up for it in time. We hope you will all help us spread the word on our new low price on our proven quality product!

Thanks Everyone! MikeD

So does anyone have a link in which these could be purchased at this cost?

Edit: Looks like its promag. BTW the price drop is from $260, so thats freaking more than half off!

I only wish that guy lived near here, so I could thank him for selling me the last 4 I bought at twice this price. I'd like to thank him very slowly, maybe in a very shallow lying down place and covered very gently with a couple bags of lime. Bastard

Are you a stocking dealer bill? He said they will be compensated for the price drop.
If you want to sell me one at $130 let me know when to swing by. :)

I heard it won't be a "monetary" compensation. ;)

I never thought I'd buy one, but I figure at this price I'd get off my high horse.

I'm debating it. He has sold like 300 since yesterday. Although I don't think the price will go back up so I should probably hold off since I'm mostly broke.

I Find it difficult to impossible to believe you can actually pre-load these drums for any extended period of time & still expect them to feed shells, the springs are way too small.

Why can't someone just copy the AK-47 drum mag, that thing works all the time. Anyhow I can't use these drum mags as my Saiga will only cycle the 3" magnum shells and drum mags only accept pussy little shotgun shells. I know that mr magic can fix my Saiga so it cycles the crappy little shotgun shells, but I like it just the way it is. Besides if I am gonna shoot someone (possibley serving a no-knock warrant)n I want to get that person with the baddest possible load available.

I just got the following (see below) today. I know there are folks who paid a lot for these, but you just can't fault the man for trying to turn over inventory in times when many small businesses in this industry are (or about to) disappear. In terms of pricing, the owner seems to understand well the concept of "willingness to pay" and is hedging accordingly. As with stocks/precious metals, buy more to average down. When the value/perceived value of the "other guy's" drums tells the complete story, I am sure the drum prices will go up again.

I have two of his drums, and they are truly incredible.

Hey everyone, 02-08-2010

I swore I wouldn't do one ever again, but have to take it back. We are having another pre-order for the MD-20, our 20rd Saiga-12 drum. The price for pre-order will be 100.00 per drum. After we are restocked and shipping again the price will go back up to $120 per drum. Many of you are aware of how the pre order works. 50% down with remaining 50% and shipping due a couple days before we process and ship. We will contact you around a week in advance so the payment doesn't come as a surprise or over draw anyone's account if it's a bad time for the remaining balance. We are looking at 6 weeks to restock, maybe more, maybe less.

We are also currently out of the gunfixer's gas plug. We wont be offering a preorder on those because they will likely be back in stock before the drums are. And it would be a serious pain to break up a pre-order to ship a plug early. If you want a plug and don't mind waiting for one until your drums ships, you can have us add one to your order when we contact you about the remaining balance. If you want one before your drum ship's we will let you know as soon as they are back in stock.

Thanks again everyone and stock up! MikeD

Yep, I got the same note. Guy better hope he never catches on fire around me, cause I wouldn't piss on him to save his ass. Maybe you don't mind buying stock at full price and then finding out it is now worth 1/2 as much, but I do. WTF happened to his great "Coffin Mag" idea anyway?
